Gifts from Dream Corner

I thought I fill you in on how Dream Corner is going and what a huge gift it is in my life.

I just ran my 7th interview yesterday with the lovely Andrea Opoku of Green Bean Marketing, and had an impromptu meeting with the Studio Manager, Emily on some ideas I have running in my head. If you are stopping by here for the 1st time (thank you!); you can read about ‘My journey to Dream Corner’ blog explaining what this is about here. The meeting went well, and they are pleased with the shows I have done so far, which is fantastic news; but I know there’s still lots of room for improvement.

You will be pleased to hear the novelty hasn’t worn off at all – far from it! I am still giddy about living out my dream but a bit more focused on what it all means and how I have been given this amazing gift to unwrap! And I have to tell you I will doing that – unwrapping gifts for as long as I run the show because every guest is a gift…..let me explain.

I am thrilled that we are at the end of July, and my show is booked out till October – just have 2 dates left and already taking dates for November! Yes it appears Christmas I come very early for me :) ! I could never have imagined that I would find these amazing women to interview 1st of all, and that they would even agree to come on the show.

I can’t claim that this good fortune is all down to me, it’s not. The lovely Tamsin Fox-Davies who I interviewed last month, has played a huge part and introduced me to a whole host of fabulous women doing great things that I would never have heard of, if not for Dream Corner. I can’t tell Tam ‘thank you’ enough, and at every opportunity I get, I will. As well as Tam, other people I have interviewed or approached to interview have suggested other people who are suited to the essence of the show. I love that about women – we are so supportive of one another! And if you are one of those fabulous women reading this, thank you for saying yes :) .

I love gifts! Not only receiving, but giving; and for Dream Corner, I feel like I am just receiving a load of them with unexpected surprises within each one! So even though I have a general idea of what each guest does, there’s still an element of surprise every time I interview them, as I unravel a lot more than expected. Each interview so far has been a different learning experience, and my life is so enriched by it all; and long may it continue! My guests say I am a ‘natural’, and maybe that’s because I have always loved the art of conversation and I am quite the curious mind – asking questions trying to understand. Not nosey though, just interested.

The other day, I re-read the ‘My Journey to Dream Corner’ blog and had a tear in my eye, because I still feel I am in a dream and someone will wake me up one day and I’ll have a long story to tell about what I was happening in dream. I would never have imagined that it would be what I am experiencing within 2 months of starting. I heard Oprah said, God can dream a bigger dream for us than we can, and while I have always known that to be true (in theory!), having it as my reality is beyond words – at least for me.

With all this activity going on, you may wonder what’s happening with DCT or my new venture which I can reveal is called Bounce Point (find out more here: www.bouncepoint.co.uk)? I am still busy doing stuff on both of them; and can tell you there are not enough hours in the day! I am working lots of late nights and unlearning my bad habits of prioritising. Deadlines are the way to go and I am happy I have set some for myself and accountable not only to myself, but to other people.

Strange as it sounds, I am finding time to have some sort of balance. I guess Dream Corner makes up for any of the long hours on DCT and Bounce Point, because that’s all about fulfilling my dream and innermost desire. If you have some time and want to listen to any of the interviews I have done so far, then this is the address: http://www.dreamcorner.co.uk.

In the end, gifts can come from every where – expected and unexpected sources. I share mine because I see the difference these gifts have made not only in my business life, but in all other aspects. So what about you? What expected/unexpected gifts have changed your life? Would love to hear from you.

As always I am grateful you stopped by – thank you. If you want to get regular updates via RSS Feed, please sign up here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/org/BunH

  1. Thanks for the mention, Viv.

Please know that if it weren’t for your beautiful spark and the passion that you have for your show, people wouldn’t want to come on it.

Congratulations! I’m very proud of you.
