Have you taken a Wealth Dynamics test yet?

Last week I was fortunate to interview Laura Leigh Clarke on Dream Corner, my radio show; and I learnt a lot. Laura Leigh is a Wealth profiler and Money Coach, and as I read about her work and spoke to over the phone, I knew we were going to have a great show.

Since Laura and I were going to talk about wealth profiling, I thought it would be useful for me to take the test ahead of our interview, making it easier for listeners to understand how it worked. I didn’t know what to expect from the test which took 20 minutes to complete, but have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by the results, and think everyone – whether you are entrepreneur or not should take the test. You will be surprised what you will learn about yourself and possibly cause you to re-evaluate what you are doing and where you are in your career or business – that may not be a bad thing.

The premise of the test/profile is that once you’ve identified where your strengths and weaknesses are you can be better aligned or rather work with your strengths and there you will find your wealth flow. Sounds like a simple concept, right? I know for a fact that there are a lot of people who are miserable – maybe that’s too harsh, ok, are unhappy in their jobs. They may be making a lot of money, but they are invariably unfulfilled and unhappiness creeps in – regardless of how capable they are.

I am a classic case! I am a qualified Marketer. I always wanted to be in Marketing and was happy for a while, and then I got fed up for whatever reason – not that I wasn’t capable I was, but just felt I should be doing something else. I went off to New York for 5 months to see if I would discover what that was; and when I came back I set up DCT and honestly have been happy running it – well if I am honest – happy running aspects of it, where my natural talents lie; and if you’ve been reading about my challenges as a entrepreneur, and I have documented all of them here, so know what I mean. But after taking this test, everything has made perfect sense and I feel so much better; let me explain.

For the test you are required to give as much information as possible for the 1st bit and then there are multiple choice questions. You are advised not to second-guess the ‘right’ answers and go with your instinct. There are 8 likely profiles – Creator, Star, Supporter, Deal maker, Trader, Accumulator, Lord and Mechanic; and it turns out I am a Creator – no news flash there for me as I have always felt there lies my natural flow of things; but there’s a heavy influence of Star – which explains my love for being a radio presenter. The profile went on to tell me my strengths and weaknesses which to a large extent I have become aware of, but the huge and most pleasant surprise was when I read that the best roles for me which are: Product development, Business Strategy, Big Picture, Design, Risk Taking, Brainstorming and Starting new companies. All of which I can identify with.

I always have ideas – they pore out of me and then I think – ‘you can’t start that’ and it dies! I am a risk taker. I didn’t see anything wrong with taking off to New York where I didn’t know a soul and had no idea what I was going to find there. I thought – life is too short and off I went! But the biggest kick of all was finding out that Brainstorming is a good role for me; and guess what – I have started Bounce Point, a consultancy helping start-ups brainstorm and test their new ideas.

Coming up with the concept was an Ahh! moment for me! I knew I would love doing it! And to think that I have had the skills to to do this all this time, just makes me smile and realise there’s a time for everything. Did I have to go round in circles and get to this point realise this? I don’t know, but these are the cards I have been dealt in life (or those I dealt myself because of the decisions and choices I made), and I embrace everything with open arms because I believe I am a better person for it all – warts and all! I have learnt so much along the road of life, that can never be taken away from me. The fact that I have run DCT hopefully gives me a unique perspective on things for helping start-ups brainstorm their ideas. The same can be said about getting the radio gig – Dream Corner, it is all part of my natural flow.

So after all this rambling, and may not sound like I have convinced you, then listen to my interview with Laura Leigh Clarke here: My interview with Laura Leigh Clarke, and you will understand better perhaps. If you can afford to do it at (£97), then it will be a worthwhile investment, and you’ll be glad you did.

Have any of you taken a test? What did it say about you? Accurate? Have you done anything about what you learnt from it? Would be lovely to hear from you.
