Programme delivery

Anyone can deliver a lesson, whether you are a PSHE or non-PSHE specialist teacher. However, we have prepared a short video clip which shows how a typical lesson should go. Hopefully this would give you more confidence.

We envisage that one theme can be delivered during one lesson period. But this does not have to be the case if you want to explore in more detail the issues that arise while delivering a lesson. We would say plan for either scenario; remembering that your main objective is for your pupils to understand the process of learning how to make logical decisions through the exercises of critical thinking, literacy and discussing (communication).

Alternatively, should you wish to have some training before you start delivering the programme, we run a comprehensive training programme to support teachers who want to understand in more depth on how to engage hard-to-reach pupils. We could also come and deliver the Bina programme for you, freeing up some of your valuable time.

“The supporting materials clearly address pupil needs as well as – crucially – the insecurities which teachers trained in other aspects of the curriculum often experienced when faced with PSHE and/or Citizenship preparation and delivery.

The powerpoints and supporting text commentary deal with issues to which pupils can relate, and use language which is accessible yet appropriately demanding. The accompanying worksheets should ensure that pupils not only learn from the presentations, and any discussions or other classroom activities.”
