Programme concept
The concept of the Bina programme centres around 3 main elements: improving Understanding and Knowledge and building Confidence of 11-13 year olds; so they grow up with the maturity and ability to express their emotions and opinions.
For the programme to appeal students and get them engaged, the illustrated stories are based on everyday issues and challenges they face. Research has shown that within 11-13 is a crucial stage of any teenagers personal development; and so symptons and teacher and or parent will notice is they begin to:
• Seek to be independent
• Form close peer relationships
• More easily swayed
• Assert their identity
• Challenge authority
The simulated scenarios are meant to engage them in discussions, and understand why, they have arrived at their decisions or opinions and not establish right or wrong answers. This enables an adequate process to develop and improve critical reasoning and their ability to make better informed choices.
